Telstra Wholesale's dedicated New Customer team is the first point of contact for prospective customers.

When you are ready to do business with us, browse our products and solutions then complete and submit a customer enquiry form.

Once we've received your form, our account team will be in touch to answer any questions you may have and discuss your business plan.

Key steps

Please note that all prospective customers are subject to our credit assessments prior to supply of services.

Business plan

To help us understand your business profile so we can offer the best possible service, we'll ask for your business plan, informing us of details such as:

  • your business background - how many years the business has been operating, the products sold, its technical expertise and the business model;
  • your customer base - the types of customer serviced and their geographic location;
  • your position in the market and competitive advantage;
  • the pricing plans for the products and services offered;
  • any value-added services;
  • the type of selling and marketing interfaces - for example, if selling is conducted via a website or a shopfront;
  • your marketing plans;
  • funding or business finance information;
  • a strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats (SWOT) analysis.

Discuss potential products and contracts with the new customer team before submitting an application for services form. We have different application forms, depending on the type of business you operate:

  • company (incorporated as a separate legal entity with an ABN or ACN); (ZIP, 148kb)
  • sole trader/partnership (not incorporated as a separate legal entity; owned and managed by an individual). (ZIP, 138kb)

Credit assessment

As part of the process, we conduct a credit risk assessment with all prospective customers to help us establish the terms and conditions of our business relationship. So we can assess a customer's credit risk profile, we ask for certain financial and non-financial information. All the information provided is treated as strictly confidential and, depending on a customer's risk profile, we may need to ask for some form of security to mitigate any credit risks.

If the Application for Services has been agreed to by both the applicant and Telstra Wholesale, we can execute a contract and set the applicant up as a new Telstra Wholesale customer.
